Remember

we set out for the open road - and night falls
we’re reminded that we don’t know...which way to go
but soon we look up and see those stars
and we remember
yes, we remember

that our lives are like a river
that moves on so remember
and hold on through the turns

i recall the days when we were soft at heart
when love the wine, our lives the glass, wouldn't part
and now when life only gives me bitter
I remember

i remember the cold, green grass that night (with my brother)
i remember the bright, sharp flash of light (that was my father)
i remember the aching cries of love (from my mother)
i know now that we were not alone, no (there was Another)

and my life is like a river
that moves on so I’ll remember
to hold on through the turns
I won’t forget this...this river turns
